When a Sunday Morning Bible Study guide referenced the Old Testament our teacher was inspired to first lead the class through a timeline of the Old Testament.  He felt that (1) he couldn't teach without researching and studying the history of the Old Testament himself and then (2) that we would be better prepared to hear from God if we were taught that Biblical history did indeed help us to understand the intent of God's Word to His family of belivers.

Once we had completed what truly was an in depth and comprehensive study we were led to learn God's Word through an Inductive Bible Study Process.   We learned about our Bible, perspectives toward the Bible, why we need to study the Bible, and the results of in-depth Bible study .  Our leader's purpose for teaching it was to whet our appetites to want to do our own in-depth Bible studying, to share tools for properly approaching a consistent study of the Word and to help us have fun in the process.

Several members of the initial class were inspired to suggest that a name that should embody a purpose and mission.  We also chose our class Bible verse because we agreed unanimously that the very first step to God-led Bible study would be "to seek God first".   Names were submitted by several class members and the class voted.  We became "The WordSeekers" which completely expresses our class desire and mission.  The website as we see it today has been ehanced to reach a more global Biblical study audience.
