A few definitions may be of help ...

Hermeneutics: (means interpretive), is a branch of philosophy concerned with human understanding and the interpretation of texts, in our case, the Scriptures

Exegesis: an explanation or critical interpretation (especially of the Bible) of text.

Expository: Pertaining to, or containing, exposition; serving to explain; explanatory; illustrative; exegetical.  In preaching and teaching: explaining the Bible, chapter by chapter, verse by verse.

Eschatalogical:  Pertaining to the last or final things; the study of the 'end times.'

    Tips:
    1. Keep your study verses in context!
    2. Compare your study verses against other Scripture verses.
    3. Don't confuse your observations with your interpretations.
    4. Get input from others, mature in their Bible-knowledge and application.
    5. If you decide you have a 'new discovery' from your interpretation study, you haven't.  Talk to others before you accept and promote your 'discovery.'
    6. Refer to written, audio and/or video commentaries of trusted authors and media publishers.
    7. Always consider the 'source' of your reference material before you delve into it.
    8. Most importantly, do not promote your findings to others until you have checked your sources.

Thanks, and may God bless you!
